Never allow laziness to creep in

Lord Chesterfield’s statement on laziness “Know the true value of time: snatch, seize and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination; never put off till tomorrow what you can do today” really should teach each one of us a lesson or two.

A person who is lazy would be like smoke to the eyes of the one who employs him.  How many of us would be happy when a shopkeeper or waiter is lazy to serve us? There are some people who don’t bother about anything.  They just want to enjoy life without any efforts. Even in our workplaces we could find people who would be doing just 40% of what they are expected to do. They really don’t have any enthusiasm for life, and they assume that everything would be fine always and that they can relax and lead a sedentary life. For them, it is enough if the salary is credited at the end of the month.

As world is getting more competitive day by day, it is highly essential that we are active and always running except for the time where we are permitted to take rest. If we look at the history, everyone who has achieved greater heights would have been very sharp and agile right from the start. It is this attitude that helps us to explore things, creates the curiosity to wear different hats and experiment.

We are going to live only once in this beautiful world. There are so many wonderful opportunities that we would miss if we are not alert. It is never late to make a fresh start. Each day is new and is filled with plenty of hopes and excellent activities. All that is needed is a change in our thoughts and perceptions. If we could shake off the dust of laziness from us, bubbles of joy would start exploding into our lives. We would become so valuable to others, and to our families. In closing, I would like to say that laziness is so dangerous that it would rob the most exciting phases of our life and during the end of life, when we start realizing, we would have already made a mess out of our life.
